the big apple

Come and meet those dancing feet,

On the avenue I'm taking you to,
Forty-Second Street.
Hear the beat of dancing feet,
It's the song I love the melody of,
Forty-Second Street.

Little "nifties" from the Fifties,
Innocent and sweet;
Sexy ladies from the Eighties,
Who are indiscreet.

They're side by side, they're glorified
Where the underworld can meet the elite,
Forty-Second Street.

- 42nd Street

-my new spring break plans

Holy Cow!  I am off to New York today!  It was a really last minute decision that we would leave for The Big City on Tuesday and come back on Friday, so I don't have any blog posts to run.  But it's 10:09 today on Tuesday and I am so excited I can't even stand it.  I'm like a little kid who gets to go to the fair for the first time.
I have been to The Big Apple before; 3 years ago.  I feel like it's really time to go back, though.  WE are only there for a short time but we will b doing anything and everything.  We will go see the freedom towers, see a couple shows, do some eating, shopping and some more.  We aren't sure yet what shows we want to see.  Because I am a musical freak we will see AT LEAST two.  Three that are on our list are Avenue Q, Jersey Boys, and Anything Goes.

-the shows

I am in love with Avenue Q.  I have been since I heard the musical a year ago.  Everything is so comical and funny!
MY Theatre Company is doing Anything Goes this summer which makes me even more excited to see it.  I really want to see it so that I can get a feel for the show that I have an opportunity to be in.
And lastly, Jersey Boys.  I really don't know much about it, but everyone tells me that it is  must see so I am pretty excited to look into that one too!
     Do you have any ideas?

-the dj's choice

Lastly, I really wanted to share the reason why I choose the song 42nd Street, the title song from it's musical.  First of all, the musical that I was in was a life-changing experience.  But also, it shows the differences in time periods and styles.  It is a welcome to the world of theatre.

I hope you all are enjoying, or have a good Spring Break!

Just Me,
Jack
